It is a great pleasure for me these exciting minutes to congratulate you sincerely and wholeheartedly with the coming New Year, and, using this opportunity, to express my sincere respect to all of you.
The year 2008 is ending. It has to be said that this year in general was not easy for our country. We had to solve a lot of various problems this year. Those were water shortages and dry season, which was a serious challenge for the rural workers; those were other difficult tasks, which had to be solved in various spheres of economy and our day-to-day life. |

| Summit on Information and Communication Technologies - ICT Summit 2008 | |
Today, on September 23rd, the National Summit on Information and Communication Technologies, one of the key events of ICT week INFOCOM 2008, started its work in Tashkent. The Head of Information-analytical department of information systems and telecommunications of Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan Mr. A. Ishankhodjaev, UNDP Resident Representative a.i. in Uzbekistan Mr. Ercan Murat, Deputy of the Committee on information and communication technologies of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis Mr. A. Djurabaev, Regional Software Sales Representative of IBM, IBM Representative Eastern Europe/Asia, Tashkent Mr. R. Asimov, and Public Sector Leader, Microsoft Central and Eastern Europe Mr. D. Levi addressed the participants with welcoming speeches in the opening ceremony of the Summit. |

The works related to creating corporate information system of Ministry of Public Education are being conducted in the development center of general educational multimedia applications at MPE of RU. Building a real time data collection system about all shcools of RU are planned at the initial stage. Nowadays, Web-Maktab system, placed in portal, are developed by center staff . The system contains information about schools of RU. Information in the system is taken from the copy of last data base of «Ìàêòàá-Èíôî» of MPE. (First decade of 2007). |
